The highly successful 2024 Canadian Professional Career Forums and Job Fair ,held at the Toronto Downtown Sheraton Hotel, marked the third consecutive Professional Career Forums and Job Fair following the three half-day “2022 Professional Forum and Virtual Job Fair” and the “2023 Professional Career Development Forum and Job Fair” ,bringing the job seekers together with experts from various fields such as finance, project management, IT, and accounting, technologies and entrepreneurs.

Organized by 4- nonprofit organizations: Canada-China Economic Trade & Culture Exchange Promotion Alliance (CCEA),Legend Asian Canadian Entrepreneur Association (LACEA), Confederation of Chinese Alumni Associations (CCAA) and CPAC  the event was co-hosted by 13 professional associations, including the Canadian-Chinese Finance Association, Chinese Project Management Professional Association of Canada, Chinese Senior IT Professionals, and the Ontario Chapter of Canadian-Chinese Professional Accountants Association, etc.  The scale of this event was unprecedented, with the number of job seekers and the number of recruiting companies both reaching a record high.

Event Highlights:

  • Comprehensive Professional Development: The forum kicked off with a series of 12 in-person and virtual forums held since August 28th, 2024. Nearly 100 industry experts shared their insights on a wide range of topics, empowering attendees with knowledge and strategies to enhance their career prospects, job search skills, and professional growth.
  • Robust Job Fair: Over 70 companies and institutions participated in the job fair, including prominent names such as TD, EQ Bank, Sunlife, KIRCHHOFF Automotive, and York Regional Police. Attendees had access to a diverse array of job opportunities across various sectors.
  • Networking and Mentorship: The event fostered valuable networking opportunities, connecting job seekers with industry leaders, hiring managers, and career coaches. Dedicated “Experts & Mentors on Duty” booths and a “Resume and Interview Support Booth” provided personalized guidance. Special thanks to HR Specialist Angela Mu for her generous contributions in offering advice and resources to young professionals.
  • Engaging Panel Discussions: Three dynamic panel discussions delved into key themes: “Finance New Era,” “Technology & Innovation,” and “Future Career Opportunities.” Speakers shared their expertise on industry trends, career development, risk management, and innovation, providing attendees with valuable insights to navigate the evolving professional landscape.

In addition, this event also specially set up a resume and interview support station, as well as an expert mentor workplace exchange area to provide job seekers with one-on-one coaching and workplace advice.
